Farm Counter Sales Associate

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Smoky Mountain Farmers Co-op is looking to hire a reliable full-time Farm Counter Sales Associate at our Newport location. This position is responsible for greeting and assisting customers with selecting and ordering the correct agricultural products such as feed, fertilizer, as well as general farm, animal health, pet supplies, and more. A strong knowledge of farming and farm supplies is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Provide excellent customer service

o Maintain a helpful and positive attitude when working with customers and teammates

o Assist customers in locating and purchasing appropriate products

o Answer product-related questions and provide knowledgeable recommendations

o Help with restocking and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor

o Operate point-of-sale system and process transactions accurately

o May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

o General knowledge of agriculture products and equipment

o Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

o Attention to detail

o Must be dependable and punctual

o Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQURIEMENTS:

o High School diploma or equivalent

o Previous ag retail or customer service experience (preferred)

o Ability to move around the facility and grounds without assistance

o Ability to repeatedly bend, crouch, kneel, stand, reach, grasp, crawl, walk, lift, push, pull, or climb

o Ability to operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner

o Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds regularly
