Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and communicate orders efficiently to the kitchen staff.
• Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance the dining experience.
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards; buss tables and clear dishes to keep the dining area tidy.
• Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems; manage cash handling with integrity and accountability.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols.
• Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
• Assist with food preparation or kitchen support during busy periods if needed; support team members in maintaining a smooth operation.

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable for efficient order processing and sales tracking.
• Strong knowledge of food service operations, including food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
• Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in upselling menu items to increase sales while enhancing guest satisfaction.
• Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling, billing, and inventory management.
• Previous experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or busser is advantageous.
