Shifts Begin: As early as 5:30 AM

Job Summary:
As a Prep Cook at Smokin’ J’s, you’ll be the backbone of our kitchen operation. Your mornings will start early — helping set the stage for a smooth and efficient day of service. This role is ideal for someone who works well under pressure, takes pride in precision, and is serious about food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently prep ingredients (chopping, slicing, portioning, etc.) with strong knife skills

• Follow prep lists and recipes provided by the kitchen manager or head chef

• Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times

• Store food properly and label/date items following food safety regulations

• Assist with unloading deliveries and rotating stock

• Work quickly and efficiently to keep up with kitchen demands

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with kitchen staff

Requirements:

• Must be available for early morning shifts (starting as early as 5:30 AM)

• Solid knife skills and understanding of food prep techniques

• Good time management and ability to stay efficient without sacrificing quality

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

• Previous kitchen experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
