Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, providing product demos when needed to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Maintain accurate cash register operations, including balancing cash drawers at shift end and managing basic retail math calculations
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store remains clean, attractive, and well-merchandised to maximize sales potential
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending complementary items to boost sales
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products, store policies, and promotions with clear communication and phone etiquette
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking supplies, conducting product demos, and participating in periodic stock counts
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash register operations and inventory counts
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos to engage customers actively
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally over the phone or in person
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar retail environments is advantageous but not mandatory
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service in a lively retail setting
