Counter Service Staff

The Smokehouse of the Catskills is looking for dedicated, hard-working individuals who will be responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner, taking and packaging food orders, and providing exceptional customer service.

***Deli counter experience, especially with slicers, is highly preferred***

Job Duties:

• Welcome customers in a positive, friendly manner
• Accurately accept customer orders
• Operate a cash register, take payments and make change
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and positive manner
• Answer questions about menu items and promotions
• Monitor and restock grocery shelves as needed
• Label, date and rotate product
• Update displays, cases and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased
• Operate all food production equipment, such as slicers, in a safe manner, and ensure it is in good working condition
• Keep work areas clean and ready to service customers at all times
• Assist in cleaning counters and floors, removal of trash

Qualifications:

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Must be able to stand and move throughout assigned shift
• Must have strong customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively
• Must be comfortable, and/or have knowledge of, using various kitchen tools/equipment

Education & Experience:

• A High School diploma or GED
• Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred; however, training will be provided

This is a full-time position (benefits included) with a salary range of $18-22 per hour, depending on experience.
