Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products related to gardening, floral design, lawn care, and landscape maintenance
- Provide expert advice on plant identification, horticulture techniques, and seasonal gardening tips to enhance customer satisfaction
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for cash handling, transactions, and receipts
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked with quality products
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment and merchandising to optimize sales opportunities
- Answer customer inquiries in multiple languages when applicable, ensuring clear communication and excellent service
- Assist with floral arrangements, plant care demonstrations, and landscape maintenance consultations as needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of lawn care, gardening practices, landscape maintenance, and plant identification
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
- Experience with retail sales techniques, cashiering, retail math, and merchandising strategies
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions
