The Washington, DC office of SmithGroup is currently accepting applications for a Entry Level Space Planner to work out of the Social Security Administration (SSA) Office in Baltimore, Maryland. The position requires on-site services Monday-Friday at SSA’s Woodlawn Campus.
Working with us, you will:
- Perform space programming to capture clients’ requirements.
- Develop spatial test fits and a schematic design of spaces for customers.
- Assist in tracking ownership of space and submitting move tickets utilizing Space Management Software.
- Assess furniture needs and identify available furniture in SSA’s inventory.
- Perform space surveys to capture various spatial elements for projects and planning needs.
- Assist with various spatial planning administration such as updating floor plans and assisting with cubical signage installation and maintenance efforts.
- Update status reports, review daily contractor reports, provide product studies, and review and coordinate with SSA Subject Matter Experts (SME) for the review of project drawings and submittals.
- Update and maintain space data with spreadsheets such as names, and employee locations.
- Special studies and projects as they relate to space planning and project management at the agency.
- 0 to 4 years developmental experience in Interior Design Architecture.
- General knowledge of facility codes such as ABA, NFPA, and GSA PBS-P100.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design
