As the Senior Manager, Procurement – Warehousing at Smithfield Foods, you will spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives for transportation services across all modes—road, rail, air, and sea. - Warehousing Procurement Strategy: Lead sourcing initiatives for warehousing services, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management to support operational efficiency and scalability.
- Cost & Network Optimization: Analyze warehousing spend and market dynamics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, operations, and finance teams to ensure warehousing procurement strategies align with broader business objectives.
- Performance & Compliance Management: Establish and monitor KPIs for warehouse service providers, ensuring adherence to performance standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement & Risk Mitigation: Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems, mitigate operational risks by diversifying the supplier base, and develop contingency plans for critical warehousing functions.
- Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.

- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Leadership Background: 2 years of demonstrated experience in tea. management/development or project leadership is required.
- Warehousing & Procurement Expertise: Extensive background in strategic procurement or logistics, with a focus on warehousing operations, vendor management, and service execution.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Demonstrated success in leading complex negotiations and managing contracts with warehousing providers and third-party logistics partners.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of warehousing markets, inventory management principles, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Technology & Analytics: Proficiency in procurement tools and analytics platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tableau).
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. Thrives in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Ability to work through complex, unstructured problems.
