Porta Business Director, Smith


The Porta Business Director holds their property at a level of ownership. They are responsible for ensuring profitability and efficiency inside of business operations. They bring in revenue by implementing promotions, specials and menus that express and live inside the brand’s core purpose. (Brand directions and guidelines will be provided.) They carry the company culture and vision to each staff member as well as make sure they are fully trained in their responsibilities.

The Business Director is expected to effectively lead a team to follow through on hospitality standards, budgets, projects, and new initiatives. The Business Director is accountable for the overall success and growth of their restaurant.

Accountabilities Include:

Operational Leadership

Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and enhance overall restaurant performance.

Oversee day to day operations, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to maintain high quality standards in food preparation, presentation, and service.

Financial Management

Create and manage budgets, forecasting financial performance, and identifying areas for cost optimization.

Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators to make data driven decisions.

Implement revenue generating initiatives and cost control measures to achieve financial targets.

Strategic Planning

Contribute to the development of the restaurant’s long term strategic plans and objectives.

Identify business opportunities and potential risks, providing proactive solutions for sustained growth.

Stay abreast of industry trends and competition to position the restaurant as a market leader.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of professionals. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.

Customer Experience

Ensure a superior customer experience by maintaining high service standards and addressing customer feedback.

Implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Compliance and Regulations

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations – including health and safety standards, licensing, and labor laws.

Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain legal and ethical business practices.


Ideal Skills and Attributes

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional and complete communication, highly encouraged through email or Microsoft Teams and not via Text or social media.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence and achieving financial targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within the community.
  • Knowledge of local community dynamics and interests.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Social Awareness – always understanding what is appropriate to discuss or do at work.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations including front of house and back of house functions.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management – able to be present and thoroughly complete tasks in a well-designed and organized timeline


Compensation

- $80,000-$90,000 yearly salary, DOE.

- Health benefits offered after 60 days of continuous employment, employer pays base plan after 1 year of service.

- 401k eligibility after 1 year of service, employee funded.

- Free shift meals at venue worked, during operational hours.

- Select discounts to multiple restaurants/venues in Smith group.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
