Lead Utility Aide - Full-Time 2nd Shift

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for overseeing Utility Aides, providing leadership, and ensuring the cleanliness of all cooking/serving utensils, as well as for the cleanliness and orderliness of the department and all storage areas.

Customer Service

.Primary Job Duties

• Train new utility aides in all aspects of cleaning operations, equipment management, temperature checks, and ensure the entire team is knowledgeable of all proper procedures.

• Provide supervision to all utility aides, ensure adherence to post schedules, and ensure workarea is inspection ready at all times.

• Properly operate the dishwasher to ensure thorough cleaning and proper handling of all dishwasher safe items.

• Monitors temperature gauge on dishwasher to assure proper water temperature is maintained.

Report any discrepancies to supervisor.

• Washes large items in compartment sink, according to established procedures, as well as state and federal guidelines for Food Service Sanitation.

• Handles all china, silverware, equipment, etc., in a conscientious manner to assure there is no breakage.

• Follows daily work assignments/schedule as posted.

• Maintains cleanliness in the work area, and in all storage areas.

• Accepts deliveries and carefully stores them in the appropriate storage areas.

• When accepting deliveries, must check invoice against delivered items prior to signing for the shipment. Reports discrepancies to supervisor.

• Delivers, retrieves, separates and washes all trays, dishes, and carts serving all skilled care and assisted living residents.

• Assists the cooks when asked to bring items out of storage.

• Removes trash from the department, and cleans trash cans thoroughly as needed.

• Follows all Departmental Policies and Procedures at all times.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.

Experience: Minimum 6 months utility aide experience

Licensure: None

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting 35 to 50 pounds; Balancing; Climbing; Crawling; Crouching; Grasping; Kneeling; Pulling; Pushing; Repetitive movement; Standing; Stooping; Inside and outside environmental conditions; Chemical

hazards.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Work may involve the use of automated information systems which may include keyboards, computer terminals, telephones, battery-operated devices, copying devices, etc. Work may also require effective verbal and written communication skills.
