Are you a highly organized, detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Smith is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Assistant to join our team. This is a high-volume, fast-moving role, we need someone who hits the ground running and brings a strong work ethic, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without missing a beat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Input and manage data for Quality Assurance and maintain accurate electronic and manual filing systems
• Register code vessels with The National Board through our AIW/3rd party inspection company
• Format and track Microsoft Word and Excel documents in accordance with company policy
• Learn and navigate internal software systems
• Support supervisors and managers in meeting deadlines with accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain consistent communication with leadership, proactively reporting issues or changes
• Apply basic knowledge of ASME and API codes in day-to-day responsibilities
• Provide backup support for customer service and receptionist functions as needed
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements, incident reporting, and stop-work authority when safety protocols cannot be met
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Prior experience in a Quality Assurance, administrative, or compliance role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Highly organized with strong time management skills and a professional attitude
• Basic knowledge of ASME and API codes is a plus
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule
• A true team player with a high level of dedication, reliability, and honesty
• GED or High School diploma preferred, or equivalent experience
