What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Immigration Legal Assistant position at Smith Immigration Law Firm?
Smith Immigration, with offices in Hickory and Gastonia, is seeking a case manager for its Gastonia office.
We are looking for a self-motivated Legal Assistant to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. This person will play a significant role in the case management process.
Job duties are as follows:
- On behalf of clients, prepare and file immigration petitions with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of State.
- Prepare written motions and other fillings to be submitted at immigration courts.
- Meet with clients and/or communicate with clients via telephone, email, or text to obtain information and evidence necessary to complete an immigration filing or respond to client requests.
- Assist each individual case manager with their casework.
- Maintain firm's database of clients and cases by entering case-status information into the law firm's case management system.
- Ability to create an effective balance between time-sensitive casework.
Skills:
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and the court system. (Immigration Law)
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Exceptional secretarial and organizational skills.
- High productivity levels.
- Ability to operate under more than one supervisor.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
