Overview
We are looking for a creative, dependable, and experienced educator with a degree in Early Childhood Education to support a hybrid homeschool schedule for our two boys (entering 3rd and 1st grade in Fall This role includes afternoon childcare, homeschool instruction twice per week, and project-based learning that brings education to life.
The ideal candidate loves teaching, enjoys hands-on learning, and has a passion for creating engaging experiences both indoors and outdoors.
Weekly Hours (25–30 per week)
Monday / Wednesday / Friday
- 2.5–3 hours each afternoon
- Pick up both children after school
- Provide after-school care, light educational support, and structured activities
Tuesday / Thursday (Home-Learning Days)
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (9 hours per day)
- Teach the hybrid homeschool curriculum for the 3rd grader
- Guide children through enrichment activities, hands-on projects, and structured play
- Lead creative, educational "real-world" learning opportunities (gardening, nature activities, household science, art projects, etc.)
- Build weekly lesson plans and prepare materials for these days
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (required)
- Classroom teaching experience, especially in early elementary
- Experience developing and teaching lesson plans
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- High energy, patience, and strong classroom-management skills
- Creative mindset with an interest in hands-on learning
Bonus skills:
- Gardening or horticulture knowledge
- Experience with nature-based learning
- Background in art, STEM, music, or other enrichment areas
Responsibilities
- Afternoon school pick-up
- Facilitate structured after-school activities
- Plan and teach homeschool lessons on T/TH
- Incorporate "real-world" learning projects: gardening, science, cooking, building, arts & crafts, etc.
- Maintain a safe, engaging environment
Pay: From $33,600.00 per year
