We are seeking a high-energy, dependable, and creative full-time educator with a degree in Early Childhood Education and experience working in a classroom setting. This role blends hands-on teaching, childcare, and transportation responsibilities for two boys (entering 3rd and 1st grade in Fall 2026).
This position is ideal for someone who loves teaching, thrives on structure and creativity, and is excited about supporting a hybrid homeschool model.
About the Role
Summer Schedule (June–August 2026 and annually)
- Full-time care for two children (rising 3rd grader and rising 1st grader in fall 2026)
- Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Planning and leading engaging educational and recreational activities
- Providing a fun, safe, active environment each day
School-Year Schedule (Beginning August 2026)
Hours will vary slightly week-to-week but will remain full-time.
Mornings (All School Days):
- Arrive at our home by 7:30 AM
- Drive children to:
- Elementary (1st grader)
- Hybrid Homeschool in Athens (3rd grader on M/W/F)
Midday (During School Hours):
- Plan weekly lesson activities, projects, and home-learning curriculum
- Prepare teaching materials for at-home instruction days
Afternoons (All School Days):
- Pick up children from their schools and bring them home
- Provide after-school care and light educational support as needed
Tuesdays & Thursdays (Home-Learning Days):
- Provide formal homeschool instruction for the 3rd grader using the Seton home school curriculum (Catholic based)
- Support learning through structured lessons, enrichment activities, and hands-on learning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (required)
- Classroom teaching experience (early elementary preferred)
- Willingness to teach from the Seton, Catholic based, curriculum
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- No drug or alcohol use
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Creative, positive, and energetic personality
- Comfortable balancing both teaching and childcare responsibilities
