Job Overview
We are looking for a detail oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. You'll assist with document preparation, client communication, and overall office administration to help ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Pay will be based upon skills and experience.
Duties
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain and organize case files (digital and physical)
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and scheduling for attorneys
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and other parties
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry
- Assist with basic legal research and document review as needed
Experience
- 1-2 years of previous legal administrative experience is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Access
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
- Standard office hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00 - 5:00 Friday 8:00 - 1:00
- Office-based position with frequent client interaction
- Occasional lifting of supplies (up to 20 lbs) may be required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
