What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Intern - Summer 2026 position at Smith Douglas Homes and Careers?
At Smith Douglas Homes, we pride ourselves on being one of the fastest growing home building companies in the country. We are looking for Summer 2026 Land Interns to join our team. We have opportunities across our various Divisions located throughout the Southeast.
Position Summary:
To assist the Land Acquisition Team to supply the division with the best sites at the best price at the right time.
What You’ll Assist With:.
- Maintain lot market information (zoning, price, terms and competition).
- Identify parcels and lots to determine community feasibility
- Meet with seller to discuss requested deal terms and seller motivation
- Prepare contracts on favorable land deals
- Present lot and land purchase opportunities to division President.
- Participate in division and asset committee review and acceptance
- Complete due diligence checklist
- Prepare life of community budget, asset community transmittal and asset committee book
- Obtain HUD and VA approval
- Determine needed changes to lot takedowns
Education:
We're looking for students currently pursuing a degree in Finance or Real Estate.
