The Pre-Trial Case Aide for Smith County CSCD provides administrative and case support to pre-trial officers in the office. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate data entry, documentation, case processing, and timely communication to support the daily operations of the Pre-Trial Enforcement Unit.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Enter and maintain case data in department computer systems.
- Scan and upload documents into electronic case files.
- Check jail status and update case information as needed.
- Request offense reports and other supporting documentation.
- Monitor urinalysis (UA) submissions and defendant compliance.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and organized paperwork and records.
- File, copy, scan, and maintain departmental records and paperwork as needed.
- Communicate with officers, defendants, attorneys, jail staff, and court personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks accurately.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to type at least 45 words per minute.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
- Occasional lifting, filing, and carrying documents and office materials.
- Employee must maintain appropriate attire, professionalism, confidentiality, and teamwork at all times.
