- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent, verifiable experience handling fresh produce in a grocery, or fresh produce warehouse setting.
- More than 3 years’ experience with inventory tracking systems or warehouse management software.
- Demonstrated knowledge with OSHA safety standards and warehouse best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing employee groups.
- Current experience using various inventory technology tracking and management systems,
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Oral and written fluency in the English language.
Principal Job Duties.
- Partner with the buying team to maintain excellent department conditions including appearance, cleanliness, signage, and service levels.
- Will actively participate in daily operations, including loading and picking when necessary.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet business goals and prevent overstock or spoilage.
- Receive and inspect incoming fresh produce, verifying quality, condition, and compliance with company organic standards.
- Handle damaged or spoiled products according to company policy.
- Follow company procedures for processing invoices, transfers, and credits.
- Participate in inventories, audits, and maintain accurate stock inventories and pull dates.
- Oversee the performance and maintenance of equipment and tools to support work needs.
- Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and all food safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and equipment while adhering to OSHA, state and federal safety regulation
- Collaborate effectively across department and organizational boundaries,
- Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization
Working Conditions.
This position will work in a food production or warehouse environment, and operating vehicles on public roads and loading areas typical with industrial facilities, There is recurring exposure to moderate risks, which require exceptional safety and health precautions and the use of personal protective equipment. The position requires physical assertion, working in various weather, road and equipment noise, areas with heights, freezer and cold-controlled storage, non-climate-controlled areas, and moving equipment.
- Frequent bending, stooping, standing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements; positioning self in the work environment,
- Frequently transports freight and navigates driving conditions,
