What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Specialist position at Smith & Associates Real Estate?
We are looking for a Technology Specialist who can keep our offices, agents, and staff running smoothly across all hardware, software, and everyday tech needs. You do not need to be a coder or a traditional IT person. What you do need is curiosity, persistence, and the ability to troubleshoot almost anything with a high level of customer service. This role supports everything from workstation setups to onboarding users to keeping our enterprise apps and hardware organized and functioning.
You will move between office locations, help people with their devices, sort out WiFi or printer issues, manage licenses, and make sure our tech stack stays clean, consistent, and well documented. It is a ‘get it done’ role where your problem-solving instincts matter more than niche technical expertise.
- Onboarding and offboarding for employees and agents, including device setup and user access across company platforms.
- Daily troubleshooting for computers, printers, phones, networking, WiFi, and security or permissions issues.
- Primary point of contact for 3rd Party Managed Service Company and other technology vendors supplying hardware, connectivity, communications, and applications/software.
- Hands on setup and organization of hardware, workstations, and shared tech spaces.
- Helping staff and agents use the company software tools such as CRM platforms, back office systems, email, creative tools, and transaction platforms.
- Acting as an internal problem solver across marketing, back office, and operations, connecting the dots between departments.
- Provide training and education to agents and staff on technology solutions.
- Basic AV setup and support for meetings and occasional events.
- Managing licenses, maintaining hardware inventory, and keeping documentation updated.
- Proactively identifying issues before they become problems and keeping things in good order.
- Obtaining an understanding and strategizing on ways to use automation and AI for efficiency in company operations.
- Support for cybersecurity best practices and general safe device usage.
- Traveling between offices and sometimes new development galleries as needed. Reliable transportation is required.
