Location: Westport, CT
Potential Compensation: $100,000-$125,000
Role Overview:
The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting functions, manage a Staff Accountant, and play a key role in building out the team as we grow. This position offers significant opportunities for professional development, leadership, and involvement in strategic projects and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting optimization and streamline systems
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close.
- Manage and mentor a Staff Accountant; assist in scaling the team as the company grows.
- Implement and optimize automation tools and workflows (e.g., Alteryx, Python) to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Streamline accounting processes and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with leadership on special projects and initiatives.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize Yardi for property management accounting functions.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of accounting experience, CPA designation is preferred
- Experience in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier firm) combined with real estate industry experience preferred.
- Strong technical skills with a focus on data automation and process improvement (Alteryx, Python, or similar tools).
- Proficiency in Yardi software is preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
