- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-ray), operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, and accurately document findings in electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Open Dental
- Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of medical documentation and coding.
- Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient health status throughout procedures, especially in pediatric or medically compromised patients.
- Support front desk operations by coordinating appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with dental reception duties when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and OSHA guidelines.
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental is a Plus
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security.
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team of dental professionals.
