Experienced Dental Assistant – Job Description
Smiles R Us is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant with a strong background in chairside support, patient care, and clinical operations within fast-paced dental practices. Skilled in assisting with general, restorative, cosmetic, and surgical dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and compliance with infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists during examinations, restorative procedures, extractions, root canals, crowns, and cosmetic treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
- Take and process dental X-rays and digital impressions as required
- Prepare dental materials (impressions, cements, fillings) and handle instruments efficiently during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans
- Update and maintain accurate patient records using dental practice management software
- Coordinate with front office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling
- Manage inventory, order dental supplies, and ensure proper storage of materials
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and infection control protocols
- Proficient in dental X-rays, sterilization techniques, and chairside assisting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records
- Certification or licensure as required by state regulations (e.g., RDA, CDA preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $27.00 per hour
