What your day looks like
You’ll be on the production floor as the go-to quality pro for in-process checks. From the start of a run to the last piece, you will:
- Carry out visual, dimensional, and functional inspections according to the Control Plan and in-process inspection procedures.
- Measure parts with precision tools—calipers, micrometers, and vision systems—ensuring conformance every step of the way.
- Capture results accurately on required records and enter statistical data using a computer.
- Operate day‑to‑day gaging used in the QA Lab and spot defects on molded/assembled parts quickly.
- Read and apply requirements from the Control Plan with care and consistency.
- Model reliability: regular attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
How you’ll contribute beyond the checks
- Follow sample retention procedures and generate labels for daily production retains/tailgates at the start of each shift.
- Alert your Supervisor/Lead to any non‑conformances and follow product rejection procedures.
- Maintain quality areas and QC equipment in clean, orderly condition.
- When directed, supervise rework of nonconforming product in the hold area and perform final inspection on reworked product.
- Pitch in with other duties as assigned to keep production flowing.
What you bring
- 1–3 years of Quality Control experience; experience in a plastic injection molding environment (1 year) is recommended.
- Hands‑on skill with precision measuring equipment.
- Blueprint interpretation and strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of SPC and ISO 9001 & 13485 requirements.
- Computer proficiency, including Word and Excel; able to record and analyze QC data.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; work well independently and with others.
