What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Business Analyst position at SMC Manufacturing Services?
PURPOSE
The Strategic Pricing Analyst will serve as a vital part of the organization in supporting strategic initiatives as well as work on ad-hoc pricing related projects. This entry-level position will assist with analytics that measure product profitability and support the development of pricing strategies and plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for pricing analysis, validation, data cleansing, collection and reporting
Retrieve and analyze information / data, including manual files, external websites and statistical metrics from various sources that support senior management decisions
Respond to informational / data inquiries from various groups within the organization
Analyze and validate sales quotations for accuracy and profitability
Perform margin and pricing analysis to support business initiatives
Liaison between SMC US and SMC JP for competitive pricing situations
Document reporting requirements, operational processes and validate data components is required
Create and publish regularly scheduled and/or ad hoc reports as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position requires extensive work using a computer
Maintain seated posture for 8 or more hours per day
May require evening and weekend work in response to the needs of the systems being supported
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics or related analytical field
Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Must be proficient in MS Excel (including Pivot Tables, Macros and formulas).
