What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Thermo Service Engineer position at SMC Manufacturing Services?
PURPOSE
The Associate Engineer performs assigned tasks to support Company Goals. In this role, much of the Associate Engineer’s time will be spent producing output under the direction of an Engineer or Management in the form of tasks such as test analysis, components, drawings, reports, and other duties as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Creativity, innovation of assigned tasks and existing processes and/or product
Reliability, be available to complete tasks as required by internal/external customer requirements with minimal direction
Communicate internally in the department or with individuals directly associated with assigned tasks (verbal and written)
Take verbal and/or written directions on tasks, training, project, or department/company policies
Provide verbal and/or written results, a summary of tasks, or requests to various persons during the execution of tasks
Produce the end product of requested tasks in the form of components, assemblies, drawings, data files, proposals, or reports
Provide product assistance to Manufacturing or Distribution as requested
Perform engineering tests, product reliability tests, and/or performance tests from defined written test procedures, under the supervision of an Engineer or Supervisor as requested.
Perform product testing and teardown analysis for Product Claims
Provide support to Project Leads on specific project tasks
Fulfill assigned duties as outlined in your individual Career Development Plan
Provide general product sales support
Record daily activities
Other duties, as assigned to support company goals
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods
Able to stand for long periods
The occasional physical demand of moving or rearranging files and file storage boxes, and or product
Fast-paced work environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Preferred Associates Degree in an Engineering discipline or the equivalent in appropriate education and experience as determined by management
Minimum 8+ years experience
Basic understanding of common manufacturing processes
Preferred experience with CAD software (Design & Manufacturing disciplines)
Preferred experience with the use of hand and power tools
Good oral and written skills
