The purpose of the Operator position is to accurately perform tasks according to work instructions that are related to machining of SMC components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Set-up and operate basic SMC machines that perform one of the following potential operations: product cleaning machines such as large industrial washers and dryers, saws, lathe/orbital TIG welding, manual drills, gun drills, tap machines, polygonal flat machines, thread roll machines, brush polishing, bead blast machines, paint gun, thermal deburr, passivation, brazing, etc.
- Supervise the machine during task execution and make necessary adjustments as needed to produce a better product to specification. When the process is complete, inspect that the product has been washed and cleaned to standard.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure machine functionality (ex. Minor adjustment to maintain conductivity).
- Understand and follow all company policies and safety procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The physical demands of this position require the employee to stand, walk, and use their hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with their hands and arms. The role will also necessitate the employee to lift heavy components (up to 40Lbs) as needed.
- The person is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.
- Some operations take place in an ISO 5 Clean Room. Clean Room gowning is required.
- While the production facility is temperature controlled, the work environment may expose employees to noise, heat, open flame, cold, dust, lubricants and/or solvents.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- No prior experience needed.
- Available to work overtime on weekdays/weekends as needed (multiple day time schedules are available).
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Work in a team environment for an increased productivity and quality.
- Communication: Must be able to read/write/speak and understand English. Must be able to effectively communicate.
