Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Operator role based in Bringhurst, IN. The Operator will safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, and dozers for demolition, excavation, grading, and site preparation work. Daily tasks include following project plans and directions from supervisors, loading and hauling materials, assisting with debris removal, and maintaining clean, organized job sites. The Operator will perform basic equipment inspections, routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly. The role also involves following safety procedures, communicating effectively with crew members, and supporting other site tasks as needed to keep projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers) with a strong focus on safe, efficient machine control.
- Knowledge of demolition, excavation, grading, and site preparation practices, including reading basic site layouts or instructions.
- Ability to perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues in a timely manner.
- Strong safety awareness, including adherence to PPE requirements, jobsite safety rules, and OSHA or industry best practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with supervisors, crew members, and other trades on site.
- Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and climbing in and out of equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites; CDL or experience hauling equipment is a plus.
- Prior experience in demolition, excavation, construction, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications or equipment training are beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with a willingness to learn and follow company procedures and standards.
