Barista

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Providing personal, yet professional customer service.
• Greeting customers, take orders and prepare orders, and address any inquiries or concerns from customers.
• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions accurately and managing cash flow.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop, including the dining area, equipment, and preparation areas.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all products are handled safely and hygienically.
• Effectively manage time to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Skills

• Previous experience in customer service or food service (appreciated but not required).
• Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and food safety practices. (appreciated but not required).
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong emphasis on cleanliness, punctuality and dependability
• Interest in coffee

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to work on weekends and holidays
• Must be in good physical condition and able to safely lift and carry weight up to 50 pounds
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US

Wages:

Starting rate of pay is $17-23 per hour plus tips, but we may consider a higher rate for more experienced candidates (likely advancement opportunity for motivated individuals)
