Maintenance Mechanic
SmartTalent Lynnwood is seeking reliable and motivated individuals for a food manufacturing company in Bellingham, WA. Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of previous industrial maintenance in a production setting.
LOCATION: Bellingham, WA
Pay: $28.00 - $38.66
SCHEDULE:
Must be flexible to work days, nights, and weekends. The normal start time will be 530pm – 6:00am Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities:
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Follows plant food safety policies and industry best practices.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Completes required environmental, health, and safety training and applies knowledge to daily work activities.
- Reports any potential safety hazards, equipment issues, or environmental risks in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Production Maintenance.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and bagging machines.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools to include welding machines, cutting torches and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
