SmartHire is looking for a CNC Machinists for a client in Sumner WA. Ideal candidate will have experience with horizontal 4th and 5th axis CNC complex set-ups.

CNC Machinist (Mill / Lathe)

Location: Sumner, WA

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour. DOE ~ SIGNING BONUS AVAILABLE!

Shift: Days

We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our manufacturing team. These role will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mill and lathe machines to produce high-precision parts while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

·      Set up and operate CNC Mill and CNC Lathe machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis where applicable).

·      Perform machine setups, adjustments, and tool changes.

·      Machine parts to required specifications with high accuracy and efficiency.

·      Monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and output.

·      Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.

·      Collaborate with programming, tooling, and production teams to improve processes.

·      Assist with fixturing and tooling preparation for work orders.

·      Maintain accurate setup sheets and production documentation.

·      Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

·      2 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.

·      Experience with CNC mill and/or CNC lathe setup and operation.

·      Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

·      Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

·      Basic CNC programming knowledge (MasterCAM or similar) is a plus.

·      Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

·      Good communication and teamwork skills.

·      Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Work Environment

·      Manufacturing / machine shop setting.

·      Standing or sitting for extended periods may be required.
