Art Director (43460)

smartdept. Inc. is seeking an Art Director for a client in Ada, MI, to support creative initiatives across multiple global brands. This role is ideal for someone with a strong design background who can bring strategy-driven creative concepts to life across web, social, video, print, and more.

You’ll partner closely with brand and creative stakeholders, internal teams, project managers, and external creative partners to develop and execute engaging, on-brand visual content. This opportunity offers exposure to a fast-paced, collaborative, and global environment.

• Develop creative concepts for holistic brand and product launch campaigns.

• Provide clear art direction to agencies, graphic designers, and creative partners.

• Execute creative deliverables across digital, social, video, and print channels.

• Ensure alignment with brand standards, strategy, and design principles.

• Contribute to on-set creative direction when needed.

• Solve visual and design challenges with strong conceptual thinking.

• Collaborate with internal partners, including brand teams, social media leads, and creative management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or related field.

• 4 years of art direction or design experience.

• Strong portfolio showcasing professional work with clearly defined contributions.

• Experience leading campaigns from concept through execution.

• Strong digital and social media design experience (content formats, trends, platform best practices).

• Advanced understanding of graphic design principles: color, composition, typography, and layout.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator required).

• Experience with Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro preferred.

• Experience with motion storytelling and creating social media content.
