Estimator
Join our client, as an Estimator in a family-owned, fast-growth industrial painting and coatings company, with a great culture. Salary is negotiable based on candidate experience. Must live in Texas. We are seeking customer-focused technical professionals who have estimating experience in industrial paintings or coatings construction industry.
Estimator Job Responsibilities:
Estimate Development
●Prepare accurate cost estimates based on blueprints, field measurements, and specs
● Perform digital takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work
● Use standardized proposal templates to clearly document scope and pricing
● Ensure timely completion of proposals based on priority and deadlines
● Apply production rates, safety factors, and contingencies appropriate to project type
Sales Team Collaboration
● Partner with Business Developers to review project details and tailor proposals
● Help qualify leads by reviewing bid requests and determining project fit
● Provide technical input on scope and feasibility during sales strategy discussions
● Maintain bid logs and update proposal tracking tools regularly
Site Review Support
● Participate in job site visits with the Lead Estimator or Business Developers when needed
● Document job site conditions: access, dimensions, photos/videos, and risk factors
● Input lessons learned into estimating templates based on post-job reviews
Desired Experience:
- 5 years Estimating for large industrial painting or coating projects
- Full understanding of complex industrial blueprint drawings, specs, and field data
- Understanding of digital on-screen takeoff and Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Pro-contractor MX, Stack Takeoff, iSqFt, Bluebeam or similar tools
- Strong people and communication skills
- Ability to work in multiple applications simultaneously
- Proficiency in math and measurements
