POSITION SUMMARY: Smart Warehousing is looking for a well-rounded Paralegal to join our team. This role provides legal support to the General Counsel across multiple corporate areas of the organization, including administration, project support, document preparation and review, research, and support of strategic initiatives. This is a full-time, in-office position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, write, read, sit, and be alert at all times. The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds (e.g., files, boxes of records).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the General Counsel.
- Reviews, edits, and maintains company contracts.
- Prepares and files court documents.
- Drafts letters and assists in preparing legal pleadings and documents.
- Performs legal and factual research.
- Investigates and compiles supporting documents; responds to customer and commercial complaints and civil subpoenas.
- Organizes and maintains company files.
- Drafts demand letters and manages related timelines.
- Manages communication with the auction provider and between the auction provider and the company.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned by the General Counsel.
“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent relevant legal experience.
- 4 or more years of experience working in a law firm, agency, or corporate law department.
- Knowledgeable of the principles, practices, and operating details of a company.
- Proficient in modern legal office practices, procedures, and terminology.
- Experienced and knowledgeable across a broad variety of legal matters.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under demanding deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
