Role Description The Paralegal will provide day-to-day support to attorneys in business law and civil dispute resolution matters. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing legal documents, conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and summarizing documents, and maintaining case files and calendars. The role involves assisting with discovery, trial preparation, and coordination of mediation, arbitration, and litigation activities. The Paralegal will communicate regularly with attorneys, clients, and external parties to gather information, provide updates, and ensure deadlines are met. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Overland Park, KS.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and familiarity with business law and civil dispute resolution principles
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and organizing contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Excellent Communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and external parties in a clear, professional manner
- Advanced Research abilities to gather, analyze, and synthesize legal and factual information from multiple sources
- Attention to detail in Document Review, including identifying key facts, issues, and inconsistencies
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field; paralegal certification is preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple matters and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with legal practice management software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work collaboratively with a legal team and maintain confidentiality and professional ethics
