Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $73/hour
• Overtime: Available after 40 hours
• On-Call Rate: $4/hour pager
• Call Back Rate: $83 (2-hour minimum)
• Holiday Rate: $83/hour

Job Summary:

Regional West Medical Center is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist (RDMS/RVT) for a 13-week travel assignment. This role is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including general and vascular studies, while ensuring patient safety, imaging accuracy, and compliance with clinical standards.

This position requires a professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet facility performance expectations. Travelers are expected to perform at low/mid/high performer standards, as contracts may be ended early if performance expectations are not met.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostic Imaging Duties:

• Perform general ultrasound examinations including abdomen, OB/GYN, and small parts studies
• Conduct vascular ultrasound procedures and diagnostic evaluations
• Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Ensure proper patient positioning and exam preparation

Patient Care & Clinical Support:

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout procedures
• Explain procedures and address patient concerns professionally
• Monitor patient safety and comfort during exams
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams regarding imaging needs

Documentation & Compliance:

• Document procedures accurately in EPIC EMR
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols and imaging standards
• Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of ultrasound equipment

Requirements:

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) required
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required within 18 months
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Minimum 1 year of ultrasound experience preferred (less may be considered)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience performing both general and vascular studies
• Experience using EPIC EMR preferred
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
• Travel assignment experience preferred
