Duties
- Prepare and serve balanced, age-appropriate meals and snacks that meet dietary guidelines for children
- Plan weekly menus incorporating diverse flavors and textures to support healthy growth and development
- Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with childcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs and allergies
- Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage, and meal documentation
- Assist in catering special events or celebrations with creative culinary offerings
- Uphold kitchen cleanliness through regular cleaning routines and proper equipment maintenance
- Stay up to date and follow the state requirements
- Assist with laundry as needed
- Supervise children as needed
- Other duties as requested
Requirements
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within childcare or healthcare settings
- Strong background in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques suitable for children
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling practices
- Experience working in fine dining or restaurant environments is advantageous
- Skilled in knife techniques, meal assembly, and food presentation
- Familiarity with catering services and food service operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and caregivers
