Early Childhood Montessori Teacher

Small World Christian Academy is seeking a loving, dependable, and enthusiastic Montessori Assistant Teacher to join our growing team. We are transitioning to a Montessori-inspired learning environment and are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children learn through hands-on exploration, independence, and purposeful play.

This position will work with our toddler classroom during part of the day and assist in our infant classroom later in the day. The ideal candidate is flexible, patient, nurturing, and committed to providing a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and care for infants and toddlers in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Assist with implementing Montessori-inspired activities and daily routines.
• Encourage independence, respect, and confidence in each child.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
• Communicate professionally with families and coworkers.
• Follow all Louisiana licensing regulations and center policies.
• Assist with diapering, potty training, meals, naps, and classroom transitions.
• Help maintain accurate attendance and daily reports using Brightwheel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with infants and/or toddlers preferred.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player.
• Must be able to pass a background check and meet all Louisiana licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain).

Pay: $10.00 - $16.00 per hour
