After-School Program Support Teacher
Small Tales Daycare is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Support Teacher for our after-school enrichment program. This position assists the Director/Lead Teacher in providing a safe, engaging, and positive environment for school-age children.
Key Responsibilities
- Help supervise children and maintain a safe environment.
- Assist with enrichment activities, recreation, and homework support.
- Follow daily schedules, lesson plans, and program routines.
- Use positive behavior-guidance and conflict-resolution strategies.
- Assist with attendance, transitions, meals, cleanup, and dismissal.
- Communicate professionally with children, families, and coworkers.
- Follow OCFS regulations and Small Tales policies.
- Help maintain clean, organized activity areas and supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or
- At least one year of experience working with children under age 13.
Additional Requirements
- At least 18 years old preferred.
- Able to pass all required OCFS background checks and clearances.
- Provide acceptable professional and character references.
- Complete required OCFS health, safety, and mandated-reporter training.
- Obtain or maintain pediatric CPR and first aid certification.
- Be dependable and available during after-school hours.
- Demonstrate patience, good judgment, teamwork, and enthusiasm for working with children.
Preferred
- Experience in child care, education, recreation, camps, or youth programs.
- College coursework in education, child development, or a related field.
- Experience assisting with art, STEM, sports, literacy, or other enrichment activities.
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
