Small Friends aims to support certified and uncertified educators in pursuing meaningful qualifications and ongoing professional development to build their knowledge and skills working with children. We have seen that well-prepared, well-supported educators are vital to ensure all children served in Early Education and Care-licensed programs receive high-quality education and care.

Qualifications:
- BRC, CORI, and fingerprinting.
- At least 18 years old.
- First Aid/CPR and AED certified or willing to become upon employment.
- Fluency in English, verbal and written communication.
Infant/Toddler Teacher Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety and well-being of all children.
- Able to lift children.
- Remain calm objective and respectful in potentially stressful situations.
- Helping with general housekeeping tasks.
- Work with the teaching team to establish routines and procedures for the classroom
- Staff Development - attend staff meetings and training programs.
- Treat all children with kindness and respect.
- Supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children.
- Be thoroughly familiar with center policies and procedures, including but not limited to emergencies, illness, medications, accidents, and field trips.
- Report to Executive Director or Lead Teacher, any concern which may occur with the children, parents, and/or staff.
Requirements:
Willing to or currently living on island year-round
Small Friends operates year-round, school is open from 7:45 to 3:30 pm.
