What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Tech position at SLOCUM ORTHOPEDICS, P?
· Ensures the proper functioning of equipment prior to use
· Assists, as needed, with transporting patient to and from the operating room
· Understands standard concepts, practices and procedures within the surgical technologist field (i.e. setting-up and maintaining a sterile field)
· Anticipates and responds to surgical requirements for all procedures
· Aids in the safe transfer of the patient from the Operating table to the recovery gurney.
· Follows OSHA guidelines when handling blood or bodily fluids
· Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
· Strictly maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA rules and regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.
