Job Summary
Provide onsite IT support for R&D users in a biotech environment. Act as the primary IT representative for the site, supporting desktops, applications, cloud-based virtual machines, collaboration tools, conference rooms, and user lifecycle activities in a regulated setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Onsite & End-User Support
- Provide hands-on onsite IT support for 100 users.
- Act as the primary IT point of contact and representative for the site.
- Handle escalated service desk tickets.
- Perform onboarding and offboarding of employees.
- Support printers and peripheral devices.
- Perform uninstall/reinstall and installation of approved software applications.
- Provide general application support for end users.
- Scientific & R&D Application Support
- Support R&D modeling and statistical tools, including JMP Clinical.
- Provide application support for cloud-based R&D environments.
- Support R&D users accessing modeling tools via virtual machines.
- No lab systems support required.
- Cloud & Virtual Machine Support
- Support AWS and Azure virtual machines used by scientific teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting, access, and performance issues related to VMs.
- Collaboration & Conference Room Support
- Provide conference room and hybrid meeting support.
- Troubleshoot audio/video equipment, displays, and Teams Rooms.
- Documentation & Process Support
- Create and maintain IT documentation, runbooks, and support guides.
- Follow established processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Experience providing onsite IT support in a professional environment.
- Strong interest in the R&D biotech industry.
- Previous experience supporting scientific or modeling tools preferred.
- Hands-on support for Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
- Experience using an IT ticketing/ITSM system (e.g., ServiceNow, FreshService, Jira) to log, track, escalate, and resolve incidents and requests.
- Comfortable supporting a high-volume user base onsite.
- Strong documentation skills, including creating runbooks, support guides, and knowledge articles.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
