Grower Accountant

About the job

The Grower Accountant will oversee complex grower accounting functions, support month-end

close activities, and provide analytical reporting related to crop investments and grower

settlements. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial

records, improve accounting processes, and support operational goals across the organization.

We're looking for someone who

● Holds an Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance

● Has 4 years of grower accounting or related agriculture accounting experience

(preferred)

● Is bilingual in English and Spanish

● Has advanced Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills

● Is proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and

Adobe (Famous database experience preferred)

● Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

● Can manage projects independently with minimal supervision

● Communicates effectively across departments, vendors, and leadership teams

● Maintains discretion and professionalism while handling confidential business matters

● Is detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple high-visibility projects

● Can learn new processes quickly with minimal repetition

● Holds a valid California driver’s license and can qualify for company vehicle insurance

coverage

● Works effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

What you'll do

● Manage grower accounting activities, reconciliations, and settlement processes

● Develop and maintain accounting procedures for complex shared equity growing

agreements

● Process weekly grower charges, calculations, and system reconciliations

● Support month-end close activities and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations

● Prepare financial analysis, crop investment reporting, and Board reporting summaries

● Assist with ad hoc financial reporting requests from management

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting and operational processes

● Provide guidance and support to departments regarding grower accounting and inventory

procedures

● Assist with AP voucher processing and grower-related accounting functions

● Cross-train in additional accounting responsibilities to support department coverage as

needed

● Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures
