Position Summary:
The full-time machine set-up/operator position requires limited direction or supervision while setting up and/or operating the heading equipment with various header types and sizes. The candidate will possess and demonstrate the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards. It is required to maintain a clean and safe working area. First shift works 6 am to 4:30 pm and Second shift works 4:15 pm to 2:45 am.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and operate a variety of headers to produce quality parts
- Operate headers with regular quality checks to ensure minimum scrap and keep accurate piece counts
- Maintain machines and tools
- Follow all quality standards, work instructions and procedures
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment
- Troubleshoot and perform minor preventative maintenance on machines as needed
- Knowledgeable with blueprint reading and inspection tools
- Ability to stand and work 10 hour shifts
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs/over 30 lbs use buddy system
- Bending and stooping regularly
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Detailed oriented with high attention for quality
- Ability to work independently
- High attention to detail while being able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Teamwork skills
- Reliable and dependable work history
Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in cold forming heading
- Previous problem solving and trouble shooting skills/experience
- ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning: I year
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
