What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse position at Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital?
The Registered nurse is primarily responsible for high quality patient centered care based upon the nursing process and recognized best standards of nursing practice. She/he collaborates with other disciplines in establishing a holistic approach to patient care. She/he demonstrates a working knowledge of leadership, education, and communication skills in delivering patient care. The Registered Nurse will work with Med/Surg, Swing Bed, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Outpatient Therapy.
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN licensure in good standing in the State of Minnesota
- Maintains BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NRP certifications, and completes annual competencies.
- Practice reflects an understanding of the hazardous exposure policies.
- Practice reflects knowledge and understanding of Infection Control Standards.
- Sincere interest in nursing with knowledge in general medical/surgical nursing and the ability to use the nursing process.
- Employee must be able to multi-task and prioritize.
- Must possess the ability to work as a team member.
- Must possess the capacity to perform well under stress or in emergency situations.
- Must possess the ability to work with and maintain confidentiality of patients and patient data.
- Acute Care experience is preferred but not required.
Sleepy Eye Medical Center is seeking full-time RNs for Med/Surg, ER, OB and Outpatient Therapy. Rotating shifts. Willing to train motivated new grads. Good organizational skills; ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively with patients, family and staff. Opportunity to pick up extra hours possible.
