What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist position at Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital?
The Staff Occupational Therapist treats disabled, ill or injured patients with special equipment and the therapeutic use of daily activities. They help patients improve, regain and develop the skills needed for day-to-day life and work. The Staff Occupational Therapist knows of and utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patients. Performs other related duties as assigned . Experience working with inpatients and pediatrics a plus.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of Accredited Occupational Therapy Program with a BS, MS or doctorate in Occupational Therapy
- Current Minnesota State Licensure
- Current BCLS certification
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with physicians and management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with a high degree of accuracy
