Job Summary
The Weekend Night Auditor is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while overseeing front desk operations during the overnight shift. This position ensures the accuracy of daily financial transactions, completes the nightly audit process, prepares reports, and maintains a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests. The Night Auditor serves as the primary point of contact during overnight hours and must be able to work independently while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner while providing exceptional customer service.
- Perform guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, room assignments, and process payments accurately.
- Complete the nightly audit process, ensuring all daily transactions are balanced and posted correctly.
- Reconcile guest accounts, room revenue, credit card transactions, and cash receipts.
- Generate and distribute daily financial, occupancy, and operational reports.
- Utilize ChoiceADVANTAGE to manage reservations, guest accounts, room inventory, and complete the nightly audit.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies during overnight hours.
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide information regarding hotel services, rates, and availability.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk, lobby, and breakfast area throughout the shift.
- Prepare the breakfast area for morning service, including stocking supplies as needed.
- Perform routine security walks of the property and report any maintenance, safety, or security concerns.
- Communicate important information and shift updates to hotel management and morning staff.
- Follow all company policies, brand standards, and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous hotel front desk or Night Auditor experience preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic accounting and cash-handling experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions during overnight hours.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, email, and hotel reservation systems.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and available to work overnight shifts every Friday and Saturday, including holidays as needed.
