Job Description
The Sleep Equipment Specialist is responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and management of sleep diagnostic equipment, including advanced EEG sleep profiler devices. This role ensures patients are properly educated on equipment use, supports accurate data collection, and maintains the operational readiness of all sleep lab devices.
The position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality diagnostic testing by ensuring equipment accuracy, patient compliance, and seamless coordination between patients and clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, configure, and dispense sleep diagnostic equipment, including EEG-based sleep profiler devices
- Educate patients on proper setup, usage, and care of sleep testing equipment
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, sanitized, calibrated, and functioning properly prior to use
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide support to patients during the testing process
- Track and manage equipment inventory, including distribution, returns, and availability
- Monitor equipment usage to ensure proper data capture and patient compliance
- Coordinate with sleep technicians, providers, and administrative staffto support diagnostic workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment assignments, usage, and patient interactions within EHR or tracking systems
- Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
- Assist with maintaining organization and efficiency within the sleep lab environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience in healthcare, medical equipment handling, or sleep lab environment preferred
- Experience with sleep testing equipment, EEG devices, or home sleep testing systems is a plus
- Familiarity with EHR systems and basic medical documentation preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly educate patients

- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues
- Comfort working with medical devices and technology platforms
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry
Work Environment
- Clinical and sleep lab setting
- Frequent interaction with patients and clinical staff
- Combination of desk work, equipment handling, and patient-facing responsibilities
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- May require occasional evenings or weekends based on patient testing schedules
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move equipment as needed
- Ability to sit for extended periods when completing documentation
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and device setup
- Ability to lif and transport light to moderate equipment
