ChampionX is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the Chemical Technologies segment located in Sugar Land, Texas.
We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic located in Sugar Land, Texas. This is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits.
What You Will Do
- Work under general direction to perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks
- Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures
- Support and promote the site’s continuous improvement culture
- Use hand and power tools to accomplish these tasks
- Change lubrication fluids and filters in production equipment
- Replace lighting and ballasts as needed
- Complete preventative maintenance on equipment at regular intervals
- Participate in on-call rotation for the department
- Develop good working relationships with other departments on the site through professional communication
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
- Work in a variety of environments at a chemical plant, mostly outdoors and in all weather conditions
- Other maintenance related duties as assigned
- High school diploma/GED
- 2 years of experience in general maintenance work; Technical or vocational training in Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or related is preferred.
- Basic analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge, especially around fixed and rotating equipment (pumps, piping, storage tanks, etc)
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and devices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Emaint, SAP, etc)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to organize daily activities of self and others
