Position Summary :

The Operations Manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day operational control of the charter service. This role requires a strong understanding of FAA regulations, flight planning, dispatch functions, and real-time operational decision-making. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations through effective preflight planning, flight release authority, crew and aircraft coordination, and continuous communication with pilots and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

The Operations Manager must be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced operational environment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operational Oversight

• Manage daily flight operations for the Part 135 charter service, including dispatch, scheduling, and coordination of aircraft and crews.
• Exercise operational control authority, including authorization and release of flights.
• Ensure all regulatory, operational, and company requirements are met prior to departure.
• Monitor flight activities to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Preflight Planning

• Review and interpret NOTAMs, weather data, airport conditions, and airspace restrictions.
• Calculate trip routes, fuel requirements, alternate airports, and fuel stops as required.
• Ensure flight planning complies with FAA regulations, company manuals, and operational policies.

Flight Tracking & Monitoring

• Track active flights and provide real-time updates on weather, ATC delays, TFRs, and airspace constraints.
• Recommend route, altitude, or airport changes when diversions or operational adjustments are required.
• Maintain continuous communication with flight crews to support safe and efficient operations.

Crew & Duty Management

• Ensure crew duty, rest, and flight time limitations are followed for each flight.
• Coordinate with crew scheduling to ensure proper staffing and regulatory compliance.
• Support pilot decision-making while maintaining operational control oversight.

Decision Making & Coordination

• Make time-critical operational decisions with safety as the primary priority.
• Coordinate closely with maintenance, crew scheduling, and fleet scheduling during normal operations and irregular operations (AOGs, weather events, diversions).
• Escalate issues appropriately and ensure leadership awareness when operational risk or customer impact exists.

Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FAA regulations, operational specifications, and company policies.
• Ensure all flights are conducted in compliance with 14 CFR Part 135 and company manuals.
• Support audits, inspections, and documentation requirements.

Safety & Customer Focus

• Promote a strong safety culture through disciplined operational control and communication.
• Ensure clients receive timely and accurate information regarding flight status and operational impacts.
• Support customer service teams to deliver a high-quality charter experience.

Required Certification & Qualifications

• Prefer hold a FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate issued under 14 CFR Part 65
• Minimum age: 23 years (21 to begin training)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Completion of 200 hours of FAA-approved dispatcher training
• Successful completion of FAA written and practical exams
• Strong knowledge of Part 135 operations and operational control principles

Work Environment

• Based in the airline’s Operations Control Center (OCC)
• Fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
• Shift work required, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Continuous coordination with pilots, maintenance, crew scheduling, and leadership teams

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and standing

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
