What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yarn Dyer Production Worker position at Slagle LLC?
We are seeking people to join our team! This is not your typical job. This is a micro business with a team of 4-6, so being able to wear many hats and being flexible is very important. We are actively hiring as of 4/6/26.
We are a small group of people, we have a friendly and good team environment. Each day you will be responsible for different types of tasks which makes the job interesting. We hand dye yarn for people who knit. We actually do the dyeing ourselves, so the job is colorful! It is manual labor to get the job done. The business is 100% online, we have no walk-in traffic.
We dye yarn on a daily basis. If you can follow a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe you can dye yarn. This person will also need to be willing to do physical labor. It is a self-managing job, once you learn how everything goes (which usually takes 6-8 weeks). You'll get a list each day of what to accomplish for the day. Dyeing and specific software will be taught on the job, no experience needed for those aspects of the job.
28 hours/week
The work week is Tuesday - Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm.
Main Responsibilities:
- Dyeing the yarn needed to be able to process the orders each week.
- Maintain lists and organization
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Work as a team
- Soaking yarn, rinsing, spinning to dry then hanging it to finish drying
- Dyeing yarn to make it colorful
Secondary Work Responsibilities:
- Washing dyeing tools and equipment
- Preparing yarn for presentation to customers
- Tagging products
- Cleaning work area daily: sweep, mop, wipe down and disinfect surfaces.
- Printing stickers or flyers for shipments
- Preparing orders for shipments
- Inventory and counting
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Team player
- Hard working, good attitude
- Reliable
- Ability and willingness to work with your hands is a must.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to do basic math (addition/subtraction/fractions).
Paid every 2 weeks as a contractor (W9/1099).
The first interview will be conducted through video call which takes 10-15 minutes. If we get a good first impression, we will invite you to an in-person interview within a few days. Projected start date is Tuesday, April 14.
